Biography

Dr. Shipp comes to WSSU after a 16-year career in the information technology industry, providing quality assurance, systems support, and project management for various Fortune 500 companies. He is an intellectual influencer who is committed to excellence. His engaging teaching style inspires and challenges faculty to identify effective instructional and technological solutions to bridge the gap between pedagogy and practice.

Dr. Shipp served as an adjunct professor within the NC community college and university system where he taught traditional, hybrid, and online courses for undergraduate and graduate students. He has published articles related to active learning, formative assessment, distance education, and cultural competency. His favorite quote by Maya Angelou states, “When you learn, teach. When you get, give.”
