Covington Hall is named after H. Douglas Covington, a native of Winston-Salem, who served as WSSU’s chancellor from 1977-84.  As chancellor, he raised funds for student scholarships and strengthened the WSSU nursing program.  Covington Hall is co-ed, living and learning community building and is designed with multiple common areas to encourage student interaction, academic activities, and co-curricular events.

Covington Hall has five floors of double-occupancy rooms.  On average, the rooms are 11’-7” x 17’-2”.  The bathrooms are traditional style.   Each student has a leaflet desk, chest of drawers, an armoire, and a twin loftable XL bed. Each room is provided with a mini-fridge for roommates to share.
