Covington Hall is named after H. Douglas Covington, a native of Winston-Salem, who served as WSSU’s chancellor from 1977-84. As chancellor, he raised funds for student scholarships and strengthened the WSSU nursing program. Covington Hall is co-ed, living and learning community building and is designed with multiple common areas to encourage student interaction, academic activities, and co-curricular events.
