Video: U.S. 52 Research Parkway interchange opens

There’s a new way to get to Winston-Salem State University and Bowman Gray stadium from U.S. 52.

The Research Parkway interchange opened early on Thursday, July 13. The new interchange features a diverging diamond interchange that aims to improve traffic safety.

As previously reported, with the opening, the exit/entrance ramp for Rams Drive closed, and Rams Drive is closed to traffic for the installation of a new bridge.

 To enter WSSU’s campus:

  • From U.S. 52: Take the new Research Parkway exit and head follow the signs to Research Parkway East.
  • From Business I-40: Drivers can continue to use the Martin Luther King Jr. Drive exit.

New U.S. 52 interchange opening near WSSU

Changes are ahead for drivers who take U.S. 52 to WSSU's campus and Bowman Gray Stadium. The new Research Parkway interchange is expected to open on Wednesday, July 12, and the Rams Drive exit/entrance ramps will close permanently.
