 - WSNC radio is back at full power- November 30, 2017 - Genuine Jazz WSNC 90.5 FM is airing at full power for the first time since the summer after the purchase of a new transmitter.

 - $325,000 grant will implement weight management program for African Americans- November 22, 2017 - The two-year grant will fund the development of Weight Matters, an 18-week program that will provide complimentary health screenings, exercise classes, incentives for participation, and a small stipend for the completion of all required program activities. Researchers are recruiting now for the program, which will begin in January. 
 - WSSU School of Health Sciences honors Healthcare Legends of East Winston- November 21, 2017 WSSU's School of Health Sciences honored six individuals and two organizations that have made a positive impact on the health and wellness of the residents of East Winston during the inaugural Healthcare Legends of East Winston.
 - Center for the Study of Economic Mobility announces first faculty research fellows- November 21, 2017 WSSU's new Center for the Study of Economic Mobility has awarded $60,000 in grants to support four faculty/student research projects that focus on identifying the barriers to economic mobility in Forsyth County.

 - WSSU wins 4 HBCU best practices awards- November 20, 2017 - WSSU collected four best practices awards – the most of any university – at the HBCUgrow Conference on Nov. 9 in Raleigh. 
 - $385,000 grant will create HBCU model diabetes prevention program- November 17, 2017 - Winston-Salem State University’s School of Health Sciences (SOHS) has been awarded a $385,000 research grant to carry out a model diabetes prevention program for high-risk, low-income communities.

 - HBCU study: WSSU’s annual economic impact is $233 million- November 14, 2017 Continually ranked among the top investments for college students, Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) is also a major economic engine in the local and regional economy. WSSU is responsible for pumping more than $233 million into the North Carolina economy, according to a study commissioned by UNCF.
