STAR Academy
The Science, Technology, Achievement, and Readiness (STAR) Academy is a dynamic Saturday enrichment program designed for scholars in grades 6-8 through the North Carolina Mathematics and Science Education Network (NC-MSEN) Pre-College Program at Winston-Salem State University.
The STAR Academy provides engaging, hands-on learning experiences that strengthen scholars’ skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics while building critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities. Through interactive workshops, project-based learning, academic competitions, and mentorship from university faculty, staff, and college scholars, participants are inspired to explore STEM fields and develop the confidence needed for future academic success. The program empowers middle school scholars to shine academically while preparing them for pathways toward college, careers, and innovation in STEM.
The STAR Academy will admit scholars on a first-come first-serve basis. Scholars MUST complete an application. Payment pricing is available on the front page of the application.
