Writing and Communication Center

The Writing and Communication Center (WCC), located on the 1st floor in the Student Success Center at Hill Hall, provides writing, reading, and communication support to all WSSU students, faculty, and staff. Through one-on-one sessions, workshops, and a supportive community, the WCC assists writers at every stage of the writing process--from brainstorming to final drafts, including speeches, presentations, résumés, cover letters, and personal statements.

Our motto is to Empower Students, the RAM way and the Write Way.

We offer a nurturing environment where both skilled and emerging writers find mentors who question, guide, and encourage them as their writing takes shape. The WCC is a safe space where a community of writers celebrates success, supports each writer's potential, and helps them think critically and clearly articulate their ideas on paper. Through collaborative feedback, we help writers better understand the writing process, build effective strategies, and grow more confident as writers, readers, and communicators.

Don’t forget to follow us on Instagram @wssuwritingcenter and to explore our YouTube channel for guides and tutorials on various writing topics.
