Basic Program Information
- Program Duration:
- Phase I: 2 weeks (introductory, cohort-based bootcamp)
- Phase II: 4 weeks (advanced training and applied research track - TBA)
- Participant Support:
- Stipend: $500+ per participant (amount varies by phase and funding availability)
- Meals: Complimentary lunch provided on campus for the full duration of the program
- Training & Professional Development: Participants will engage in a structured summer experience that includes a seminar series, short lectures in Quantum Information Science & Engineering (QISE), and professional development workshops (e.g., research skills, communication, resumes, and pathways to college/graduate school).
- Travel Grants: Up to $50 per participant to support presentation of student work at regional and state-level venues, such as North Carolina Academy of Science (NCAS), ACS local and regional meetings and STEM research and science fairs.
Eligibility
- WS-SQSB is open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents
- Applicants should be enrolled in a High school or colleges
- Preferred majors: physics, chemistry, materials science & engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering. Applicants from other fields are encouraged to contact the WS-SQSB team before applying.
- A minimum GPA of 3.2 out of 4.0.
