Applying for Graduate Admissions
Before You Apply
Learn about the different types of applications you can submit and identify which applies to you. Learn how to apply, deadlines, application fees, and requirements. Below are the different types of applications:
- Degree Seeking Applicant: Any applicant for Graduate Admissions that desires to pursue a graduate degree in a specific program.
- International Applicant: Any applicant for Graduate Admissions that does not maintain permanent US citizenship. All international applicants must submit official scores from either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). The minimum score for admission is 550 for the TOEFL (paper-based), 213 (computer-based), and 6.5 for IELTS.
- Non-Degree Seeking Applicant: Any applicant who desires to enroll in graduate courses that do not yield a graduate degree (ex: Certificate programs or Graduate courses for personal or professional enrichment.)

Application deadlines vary by program. Please see table below and submit your application and all supporting materials by the deadline date listed for the program to which you are applying. Some programs confirm their new incoming class well before the published application deadlines, so please apply early. The University may alter the date for acceptance of applications without further notice in accordance with available resources and/or the enrollment circumstances.

Accepting Your Offer of Admission
If you are admitted to a graduate program at Winston-Salem State University, you will need to return our Intent to Enroll form and complete your Health Immunization requirements before getting started.
