9:30 a.m. | Surviving and Thriving Celebration & Opening Ceremony
We honor our survivors, those currently in treatment, and those whose lives we remember. We
will hear from our top fundraisers; and listen to inspiring stories of resilience.
9:50 a.m. | Walk begins on the WSSU Intramural Practice Field

Nia: Your Breast Health AI Tool & Explanatory Demo
Did you know that Black women in the United States are about twice as likely as other women to
be diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer? Now I know you may not want to talk about
breast health, but we need to normalize this for the sake of us and our loved ones. So grab a
flyer with the Nia QR code to get more information about breast health - and share it with other
women and men in your community!
Survivors T-shirt
All registered breast cancer survivors will receive a special event shirt to recognize your special
place in our event. To guarantee your shirt arrives in time for you to wear it on event morning,
you must register by Sunday, September 13, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. EST.

Local T-Shirt Details
We can mail t-shirts. Be sure to select the option to receive your t-shirt by mail in your
Eventrbrite Registration (Shipping fees may apply). For survivors. In order to receive your shirt
in time for the walk, you must register and/or fund-raise by Sunday, September 13, 2026.
***T-shirts for all will be available during check-in. Be sure to arrive early enough to change.

How long is the Walk?
The walk is slightly less than 1.5 miles and should take about 1 hour to complete the laps around
the Intramural Track. Runners are asked to use the inside lane, walkers to use the outer lane,
strollers and special needs will also use the outside lanes.
Getting to the Event and Parking
Parking is available around campus and at Bowman Gray Stadium. More information will be sent
using the information provided during your Registration. Campus Shuttle will also be on-site for
the day of events.
Are strollers allowed at the event?
Yes! We encourage participants of all ages to join us on event day!
Can I bring my dog(s) to the event?
No, we will only allow Service Dogs.
What is the deadline for fundraising?
All donations on your behalf will be credited to your fundraising total and will be eligible for
fundraising incentives. To receive a Fundraising T-shirt, you must raise $100 by Sunday, October
11, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. CT
