Become a Study Abroad Student Ambassador (SASA)
Have you studied abroad as a WSSU student? If so, the WSSU Study Abroad Student Ambassador (SASA) program is a wonderful opportunity for you to share your experience with others. Participation also allows you to fulfill WSSU and Gilman Scholarship program follow-up obligations, while also building up your resume, thus putting your study abroad experience to work for your future career.
What is the Student Ambassador program?
The SASA program enlists students who have studied abroad during their time at WSSU to share their experiences with other students on campus. Each ambassador will have a profile on the WSSU SASA website, from which WSSU faculty, staff or organizations can look for and request an ambassador to speak to their class or group (per the student’s scheduled availability). Students may be asked to give a brief presentation and field questions from a class or group, or they might be asked to staff a table at a particular event. Students who have completed three events/presentations will receive a certificate of participation from the Office of International Programs (OIP).
How do I join?
To become a Study Abroad Student Ambassador, complete the online application form. Shortly after your submission is received you will be contacted by OIP. OIP will then meet with you and provide some basic training to help you prepare for any events you are invited to.
